Jason Robertson can’t help but feel happy and proud of his brother Nick when he plays brilliantly for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Although it has been a difficult path for them both up to this point, Jason is happy and satisfied to watch Nick’s breakthrough season play out.

Jason and Nick have always had a close relationship on and off the ice, going back to their childhood when they played hockey together in their backyard and their subsequent parallel careers in junior and professional hockey. They have pushed one another to achieve greater things while continuing to be each other’s greatest supporters in spite of their own difficulties and disappointments along the road.

Jason sees Nick’s accomplishments with the Maple Leafs as evidence of his brother’s skill, commitment, and tenacity. He has personally witnessed the sacrifices, endless practice sessions, and unwavering drive for perfection that Nick has made to become the player he is today. And now, Jason is incredibly proud of himself for watching it all come together on hockey’s grandest platform.

Beyond the pride, though, comes a deep sense of joy at his brother’s accomplishment. Jason is aware of the difficulties involved with competing at the greatest level in his sport, the pressure to do well every night, and the criticism that comes with being in the public eye. Jason is ecstatic to see Nick not just step up to the challenge but flourish in it.

Jason is amazed at their progress as he sees Nick light up the scoreboard and make plays worthy of a highlight reel, game after game. It’s been a journey full of highs and lows, victories and setbacks, from dreaming of playing in the NHL as children to witnessing his brother’s dream come true. And now that Nick is establishing himself among the NHL’s top, Jason is overjoyed to see his brother realizing his boyhood ambition.
