A vital special team member is staying with the Steelers. Miles Killebrew is being re-signed by the Steelers, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

According to Fowler, the Pro Bowler is inking a two-year contract. The $6.5MM contract is worth it.

After spending five seasons with the Lions, the former fourth-round pick joined the Steelers in 2021. During his three seasons in Pittsburgh, he has not missed a single game and has amassed 43 total tackles.

In 2023, Killebrew played 111 defensive snaps for the Steelers, up from just 57 in his previous two seasons with the team. In addition, he had an excellent season on special teams, being named an All-Pro. This previous season, he ended up with 26 tackles. Among his other 2023 highlights were a blocked punt and a safety.

Although injuries primarily limited Killebrew’s defensive involvement in the previous season, he might have another chance in 2024. After trading for Keanu Neal last week, the only other seasoned safety still on the roster are Trenton Thompson, Damontae Kazee, and Minkah Fitzpatrick.
