Curry stated to CBS Mornings that he is “maybe” considering a presidential run in the future or being active in politics in some other capacity. He added that he would be interested “if politics is a way that you can create meaningful change.”

Crucial details

Curry, the NBA’s shooter with the greatest field goal percentage, stated to CBS’s Jericka Duncan that he wants to use “every part of (his) influence” for good. However, he then withdrew this statement, stating that he is still a “maybe” candidate for president and that it wouldn’t happen until after 2028.

Throughout his career, Curry has never shied away from politics. In 2020, he endorsed President Joe Biden, though he hasn’t endorsed a candidate this election season. Curry and former President Donald Trump also briefly fell out after Curry refused to attend the White House after winning the NBA Finals in 2017 and Trump rescinded the invitation.

Curry expressed his desire to effect change in his public persona when he appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone in 2022, stating that although he “has certain beliefs that not everybody vibes with,” “as long as there’s equality… that should be the very low bar for everybody to adhere to.”

Astonishing truth

In addition to serving as a spokesfamily for No Kid Hungry, Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry formed their own charity, Eat.Learn.Play., to assist children in Oakland, California with “access to nutritious meals, quality reading resources, and opportunities to play and be active.”

Large number

$215 million. Curry was paid that amount by the Warriors in 2021 to extend his contract for another four years. According to Forbes, Curry was the eighth-highest paid athlete in the previous season.

TANGENT

Curry appeared to roll his ankle last week, thus it’s likely he will miss his game against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, per ESPN. During his six finals appearances, Curry has guided the Golden State Warriors to four league titles since joining the team in 2009.
