With permission from the Denver Broncos, the renowned quarterback is starting his free agency trip early. Guests thus far? The Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants.
Wilson has reportedly already visited the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants, according to Josina Anderson’s reports.
The second visit, which took place last Friday in Pittsburgh, is said to have gone “very well,” including lengthy talks with OC Arthur Smith.
The Steelers’ growing interest in Wilson was further confirmed on Sunday morning by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who called the first encounter “very positive.”
“Pittsburgh’s interest in Wilson is indeed real, as was assured to me by a team source,” Fowler put on record. “Wilson arrived at the Steelers facility on Friday afternoon and had what a source described as a’very positive’ meeting with the club…the Steelers were always bringing in competition. This would be that and then some, as it’s hard to imagine Wilson as anything other than a starter.”

This is the first hash of information from insiders in the national media since Anderson’s account from late Friday, which confirms that there is genuine interest in Wilson and that the meeting went well in general.
Wilson’s meeting with the Giants went well, according to news from his camp. The data supports Anderson’s assertion that there was genuine curiosity.
“I’m told Wilson is eager to help his new team on the contract front and enters the free agency process looking not only for the chance to win but also a team with an infrastructure for winning and has done it consistently,” Fowler wrote. “Pittsburgh fits that mold. Let’s see how this shakes out, but the Steelers appear well-positioned.”
In the midst of these events, Fowler talked about Wilson’s desire to work out a deal with his new squad in order to assist his team.
With the Broncos expected to foot the bill for the 2024 campaign, there is much conjecture as to whether Wilson will settle for the veteran minimum or insist on more money from his future team.
The Steelers, who have limited funds associated with the quarterback position, may decide to reallocate any savings to other positions if Wilson accepts a minimal deal.
Wilson may have a better chance of winning with the Steelers thanks to their financial flexibility.
