Representative Pelosi of California’s 11th District, which includes a large portion of San Francisco, and Representative Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri had a wager over the Super Bowl. If the Chiefs prevailed, Pelosi would send Cleaver Ghirardelli and See’s Candy. Cleaver promised to give Pelosi some Kansas City barbecue if the 49ers win.
After the Chiefs’ victory on Sunday, Pelosi was forced to reimburse herself for her poor wager. Fortunately for Pelosi, though, she has enough of chocolate in her stash for this winter.
Pelosi was given a big basket following the 49ers’ defeat.
According to a post on Debbie Dingell’s X account, the congresswoman from Michigan delivered a sizable bouquet of Sanders chocolates to Pelosi, expressing her hope that the chocolate would cheer her up following the defeat:
“Sanders always makes me feel better, especially after one of my teams loses a big game…Hope you enjoy these sweet, comforting treats@SpeakerPelosi! I know the Lions will be back with a vengeance next year.”
