Once more, Pittsburgh was named the greatest city for football lovers.

Steelers Nation has topped WalletHub’s ranking of the Best & Worst Cities for Football Fans for six consecutive years.

“Football fans are intensely loyal to their favorite teams, especially when a team comes from their hometown,” WalletHub analyst Cassandra Happe said. “Deciding the best football cities ultimately comes down to a combination of how successful the cities’ teams are, how easy it is for spectators to enjoy games and how dedicated the loyal fanbase is.”

Pittsburgh was named the greatest city for football fans by WalletHub, a personal finance website, based on 21 factors. Dallas came in second.

With their six Super Bowl victories, the Steelers were “largely responsible” for Pittsburgh’s top-tier standing. According to WalletHub, Steelers supporters and college football fans of the Pittsburgh Panthers may easily attend games at Acrisure Stadium thanks to its capacity of over 68,000 spectators.

Pittsburgh’s “some of the most engaged football fans in the country in terms of social media likes and followers per capita,” as well as its ticket sales and social media involvement, were also highlighted by WalletHub.

Green Bay came in third, ahead of Miami, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Boston, and New York. San Francisco and Kansas City, the two towns that will play in Sunday’s Super Bowl, came in ninth and tenth, respectively.

Relevant factors, such as the football clubs’ performances in each city, stadium capacity, attendance, and franchise worth, were taken into account while determining the score.

249 American cities with at least one NFL or college football team were compared by WalletHub.
