Travis Kelce had a message for Baltimore only minutes after the team defeated them 17-10 on Sunday to secure a Super Bowl berth.
With Kelce saying, “The Chiefs are still the Chiefs,”
Bettors concur.
When the Chiefs play the San Francisco 49ers on February 11, there is a lot of early money on Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City to win the Super Bowl once again. Sportsbooks lowered their initial line, which had the Niners favoured by two or two and a half points, to one or one and a half points as a result.
The Niners were 2 1/2-point favourites before FanDuel Sportsbook began, and that number was 1 1/2 on Wednesday.
In a fictitious game between the Chiefs and San Francisco last week, Caesars Sportsbook listed the former as a 3-point favourite. However, after defeating Buffalo 27–24 in an unexpected game, Kansas City shut down Lamar Jackson while Kelce dominated and Taylor Swift applauded from a suite in the stadium.
To overcome Detroit 34–31 at home, the 49ers had to come back from a 24–7 deficit. That was the second week in a row that San Francisco had to overcome Green Bay 24-21 in order to win.
“So they haven’t looked good,” said Adam Pullen, Caesars assistant trading director. “Jackson had a few errors, but I think the Chiefs had a more impressive win. So I think that led to us opening at 2, opening even lower than what we predicted the week before. The money’s been pretty steady on the Chiefs so far, so we’re at 1 1/2.”
BetMGM public relations manager John Ewing claimed 71% of the bets and 78% of the money has come on the Chiefs on the betting spread, pushing the number on the 49ers from 2-point favourites to barely a point. On the money line, it was even more noticeable, with 79% of the wagers and 84% of the bets going to Kansas City.
