When the Pittsburgh Steelers head to Mobile, Alabama for the Senior Bowl, they will miss the chance to scout one of the best offensive lineman prospects in the NFL Draft and possibly the best center in the class.

The Steelers are spending the week in the South, where general manager Omar Khan, assistant general manager Andy Weidl, and head coach Mike Tomlin will have the opportunity to work closely with some of the top seniors in the nation. Additionally, since Isaac Williams, the assistant offensive line coach, is in charge of the American Team’s offensive line, they will be keeping a closer watch on a few offensive linemen.

Georgia center Sedrick Van Pran, who is no longer on the Senior Bowl roster, is one player they will now miss out on seeing up close and personal during the week.

Mason Cole is about to enter his last season of a contract, so the Steelers may try to add a center in the draft. They will still have the chance to scout Zach Frazier, a center from West Virginia, and Jackson Powers-Jonhson, a star from Oregon.

Van Pran might be selected in the second or third round of the NFL Draft, which could be crucial for the Steelers as they try to bolster their quarterback room and defense. The head coach of the Steelers, Mike Tomlin, makes it a point to travel to Georgia for the annual Pro Day, so Pittsburgh will have one more chance to see him.
