The Los Angeles Lakers will be taking on the Houston Rockets on Monday evening, in the second game of their road trip. Los Angeles got the trip off to a great start by edging out the Golden State Warriors in a double-overtime thriller on Saturday night.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis each played significant minutes during the match. To help the team win, James played 48 minutes while Davis played 45.
Given that the club has a back-to-back match against the Atlanta Hawks, this could cause them to miss the game versus Houston. Both stars were labeled as questionable for the game against the Rockets on the injury report that was released today.
The Lakers need their studs to play in order to defeat the Rockets. Since Los Angeles is vying for a postseason berth, each and every game matters. Given that the Rockets are a member of the Western Conference, this matchup against Houston might have greater significance.
The stars would probably sit out the back-to-back versus Atlanta if they played Houston. For the two stars, it’s all about picking their games right now, and Houston is a stronger threat in the standings.
After experiencing significant ups and downs the entire season, the Lakers appear to have finally found some steadiness. There’s always the possibility that the stars play in both games because the coaching staff probably doesn’t want to ruin that.
We will have more information before tomorrow’s game, but maybe they will be able to suit up. These days, every game counts, and the Lakers’ two leaders are aware of this.
