Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, gave a heartfelt eulogy to a longtime Cowboys supporter who died just a short distance from the site of the team’s inaugural game.

A lifetime Cowboys fan, Timothy Washington was scheduled to see his first-ever game versus the Washington Commanders when he passed just a few yards from the stadium. When Jones learned of the event, he personally sent a letter and flowers to the Washington family.

Expressing his gratitude to the Cowboys for being able to have a “small part” in Washington’s life, Jones also sent his sympathies and best wishes to the Washington family.

Due to his extravagant nature, ownership of the Cowboys, and some of his public statements, the longstanding Cowboys owner might be perceived as a stereotype. Nevertheless, he never forgets the team’s supporters. This was a thoughtful act that the family obviously found very meaningful.
