Jauan Jennings, a wide receiver, is still under the NFL’s concussion protocol even though the team resumed practice on Thursday.
Jennings’ availability for the 49ers’ Christmas Eve game against the Baltimore Ravens is still uncertain.
Coach Kyle Shanahan announced that Jennings was one of six 49ers players who were not expected to practice on Thursday because of injuries.
Due to injuries, both starting defensive tackles Arik Armstead and Javon Hargrave were unable to play. Hargrave missed Week 15’s game against the Arizona Cardinals because of a hamstring strain, while Armstead has missed two games due to foot and knee problems.
On Thursday, there were no scheduled practices for backup running back Elijah Mitchell (knee), linebacker Oren Burks (knee), and tight end Ross Dwelley (ankle).
Defensive end Clelin Ferrell (ankle) was expected to be limited due to an ankle injury.
Spencer Burford, the right guard, was expected to resume full practice after missing time due to a knee injury. Burford was replaced in the game against the Cardinals by Jon Feliciano.
Cornerback Among the players Shanahan listed as injured was Deommodore Lenoir, who was listed as day-to-day this week due to bruised ribs.
Jennings, the team’s No. 3 wide receiver, ranks fifth on the 49ers with 19 catches for 265 yards and one touchdown. He also makes a contribution with his willing and successful blocking ability.
Here is Shanahan’s pre-practice injury report for the 49ers on Thursday:
