The 49ers had a fantastic Monday without really doing anything.

This is due to the Eagles’ third consecutive defeat, this time at the hands of the Seahawks. Since the 49ers humiliated and exposed the Eagles in Philadelphia, they have not triumphed. And as of right now, the 49ers lead the NFC playoff race by one game for the top seed.

The 49ers will guarantee the top seed, a first-round bye, and homefield advantage throughout the playoffs if they win two of their final three games. This implies that the 49ers, who qualified for the 2019 Super Bowl with the No. 1 seed, can still lose to the Rams, the Ravens, or the Commanders.

Here is the current seeding in the NFC:

1. 49ers (11-3)

2. Cowboys (10-4)

3. Lions (10-4)

4. Buccaneers (7-7)

5. Eagles (10-4)

6. Vikings (7-7)

7. Rams (7-7)

The 49ers have already defeated the Rams, Cowboys, Eagles, and Buccaneers among those teams. Out of those four, the Rams are the team that most likely poses the greatest threat, especially with Cooper Kupp and Matthew Stafford both finally healthy and that team playing well.

Week 7 saw the Vikings defeat the 49ers, but that victory came without Kirk Cousins, who is sidelined for the entire season due to a torn Achilles tendon. Nick Mullens is their quarterback right now, and I don’t think he can defeat the 49ers in the postseason.

The 49ers haven’t yet faced the Lions this season, so that leaves them. Of all the NFC teams, they most likely represent the 49ers’ greatest threat. However, the 49ers own their quarterback, Jared Goff. And he is aware of it.

For the 49ers, Monday went well.
