Although Charvarius Ward is “in play,” Ward’s performance on Friday will be decisive.

The 49ers should keep an eye on three noteworthy injuries before their matchup with the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Dre Greenlaw, a linebacker, is not among them.

Greenlaw ought to be available despite missing practice this week due to a hip injury. On Thursday, defensive coordinator Steve Wilks stated, “We anticipate him playing this week.” When asked if he thought Greenlaw would play on Sunday, Wilks clarified that he was referring to Dre. Yes, I do. Indeed.

Three elite starters remain: Arik Armstead, Javon Hargrave, and Charvarius Ward. John Lynch, the general manager, spoke with KNBR on Friday morning to give an update on each. Lynch stated the following regarding Mooney:

“We’ll observe. Mooney is definitely in play, in my opinion. I believe he left the game early last week, but he was there, and Charvarius felt confident enough to return if necessary. That being said, he had an injury and has worked extremely hard to recover. He hasn’t practiced yet this week, so I believe today will be crucial in determining where we can get him while we still have time. Charvarius is therefore very much in play and hasn’t quite figured that out, but he’s putting in a lot of effort to try to play on Sunday.”

Isaiah Oliver took over at nickel last week while Ward was sidelined, with Deommodore Lenoir and Ambry Thomas playing on the outside.

When Oliver was in the slot, teams tried their hardest to attack him. You would think that with speedster Rondale Moore, Arizona would follow suit. Hollywood Another threat inside is Brown, who has lined up in the slot at least ten times in seven games this season. This season, Brown has been targeted 30 times between the ranges of 0 and 10 yards, which is by far his most common target area.

The image of the defensive tackles is a little bit more hazy.Lynch discusses Hargrave here: I still haven’t figured that one out. However, he hurt his hamstring, so I don’t think he could play this week, but we’ll see. He will carry on with his rehabilitation.

Javon is a man who has played a long and healthy career. He’s in the right frame of mind and is eager to play, but we need to use caution with that one. Those things should not remain. Thus, we’ll follow Javon’s journey.

Regarding Armstead, he is “handling a couple of different things with his foot and his knee. As usual, Arik is putting in a lot of effort, but we need him out there. We have to keep him out there when he’s there. We are resolving that, therefore. Regarding this week, I believe it’s somewhat in play, but I don’t think Arik will make it.

Kevin Givens, Kalia Davis, and Javon Kinlaw should be back for more of the same. Givens and Kinlaw have been playing well lately, particularly last week.
