A former Los Angeles Dodger has found a new home while Dodgers fans await additional impending moves their team may make in the next few days.

Trayce Thompson, a former outfielder for the Dodgers, signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets. Andy Martino, a New York insider, was one of the first to report on the signing.

From 2016 to 2017, Thompson was a member of the Dodgers; he returned to the team in 2022–2023.

The 32-year-old hit.223/.319/.449 in 217 games as a Dodger, scoring 32 home runs, 87 RBIs, and accumulating 125 hits. His OPS was.768. But his Dodger career came to an abrupt end. At the beginning of 2023, Thompson signed a one-year contract with Los Angeles, and he immediately made an impact. But Thompson only hit.155 in 36 games during his time in Los Angeles before being placed on the injured list in early June because of a strained left oblique.

The Dodgers sent the 32-year-old to the Chicago White Sox in late July in exchange for Joe Kelly and Lance Lynn. He had trouble regaining his form and ended the season with a slashing record.171/.261/.232 with two stolen bases, three RBIs, and a home run.

The veteran has moved to a new residence; we’ll see if he can ever make the MLB roster of the Mets the following season.
