The iconic Empire State Building in New York City will act as a virtual scoreboard for the Super Bowl between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
The colors of the two teams will be displayed on the Empire State, with the 49ers on one side and the Chiefs on the other.
The entire tower will light up in the colors of the winning side for a minute after a goal is scored, then it will revert to its split pattern.
The building will be illuminated with the colors of the winner’s team throughout the duration of the game.
When the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles played in the Super Bowl, the historic landmark erected red and green lights in a similar method.
Following the Philadelphia Eagles’ NFC Championship victory last season, the Empire State Building was likewise illuminated in vibrant green and white.
