One applicant has been identified by the Pittsburgh Steelers as someone they will give serious consideration to replace the current offensive coordinator.

The Los Angeles Rams’ quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator, Zac Robinson, was invited to interview with the Pittsburgh and Las Vegas Raiders for the coordinator positions that were up for grabs, according to a report by Sports Illustrated senior NFL analyst Albert Breer.

Breer claims that Robinson has already conducted interviews with the Chicago Bears and the New England Patriots.

He recently wrapped up his fifth season as the quarterbacks coach and pass-game coordinator for the Rams, second overall. Matt Stafford had a career comeback in 2022, with a career-high completion percentage thanks in part to Robinson’s leadership. With Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp as their two best wide receivers, the Rams finished 10th in passing yards per game the previous campaign.

Robinson, an NFL quarterback who played for the Patriots, Seahawks, Lions, and Bengals in his college days at Oklahoma State, has only ever coached for the Rams.

The Steelers terminated offensive coordinator Matt Canada in November and had running backs coach Eddie Faulkner and quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan share offensive coordinator duties over the remainder of the season. Both aren’t currently thought to be contenders for the full-time position, according to Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin’s statement from last week.
