Dominik Szoboszlai has had one of the best beginnings to a football career at Liverpool of any player, and the Hungarian delivered once more when called to enter the field against Leicester.
On X this morning, Melissa Reddy correctly described the Reds’ newest wearer of the No. 8 shirt as “elite,” saying that at times, his output is comparable to “the work of two midfielders.”
With his most recent goal, the former RB Leipzig player has now scored twice in eight outings this season (after a magnificent long-range strike against Aston Villa in the league).
Szoboszlai has adapted to life in England in a way that is nothing short of extraordinary.
The 22-year-old has quickly established himself as the driving force behind Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool 2.0, not to mention the most worthy successor to Steven Gerrard as team captain to don the No. 8 jersey.
There’s a lot to be thrilled about when it comes to Szoboszlai’s future in the game, but we’ll let the fans determine how closely he resembles our previous captain’s qualities on the field (albeit our editor, Jordan Chamberlain, has had his opinion on the topic HERE).
Undoubtedly, one has the impression that our £60 million has only just begun.
