A report that also made fun of both Liverpool and Manchester City’s transfer failures has revealed which team went above and beyond in the competition to sign Jude Bellingham.
Throughout the first half of 2023, Jude Bellingham’s future dominated transfer news stories. A number of major European teams were vying for the signature of the England midfield player, but Real Madrid, Liverpool, and City emerged victorious in the end.
When all was said and done, Real won the race by agreeing to give Borussia Dortmund a package valued at €133.9 million, or roughly £116 million.
With 13 goals in his first 13 games for the team, Bellingham has been an immediate success at the Bernabeu. Bellingham has now scored more goals in the last two months than Zinedine Zidane did in any one season (12) at Real Madrid thanks to this.
According to a report published by the Spanish publication Marca, Real accomplished what they refer to as the “robbery of the century.”
According to Sport Witness, Marca, who are essentially known as Real Madrid’s spokespersons, are understandably ecstatic about Bellingham’s transfer considering the progress he has made.
Furthermore, it’s said that Real succeeded in landing the contract despite providing a “infinitely inferior” package in comparison to the best in the Premier League.
Real’s biggest challenger, according to reports, was Man City, and Guardiola’s team presented a “dizzying offer” that beat Real’s.
Bellingham reportedly could have made more money by working at the Etihad. Instead, despite their poorer contract offer, the allure of joining Los Blancos proved to be too great.
Marca described the City chiefs’ reaction to the transfer miss as a “violation of their own feeling of security” and as though they had been robbed.
In comparison to Real, Liverpool is also said to have submitted a more generous bid and contract offer.
Marca’s assertion would make sense considering that the Reds ended up placing a later summer window bid of £110 million for Moises Caicedo.
Sadly, Real Madrid was the team that left the English teams reeling, and Marca concludes that Real feels as though they “carried out a theft.”
Given Bellingham’s immediate impact that has also included scoring both goals in the El Clasico victory over Barcelona, Real have a right to gloat about their transfer masterstroke.
