Zach LaVine, a guard for the Chicago Bulls, scorched the floor for 51 points against the Detroit Pistons, but his efforts were in vain as the Bulls lost by 16 points in Detroit.
According to ESPN, LaVine’s 51-point performance created some Bulls history that hasn’t been surpassed since Michael Jordan did.
“LaVine’s performance marked the first 50-point game of the NBA season and made him the first player from the Bulls to score 50 points without dishing out an assist since Michael Jordan did so on November 6, 1996 against the Miami Heat.”
We’ve been here for three years together, so we understand how this business operates, LaVine remarked. “Everyone loves the other. We constantly communicate with one of my closest friends, DeMar (DeRozan), but we need to figure out how to make this work.”
Bulls having a difficult start to the year
Following the Bulls’ spontaneous players-only discussion in the locker room following the season’s opening game, LaVine’s remarks have drawn attention from throughout the league.
Following the first game, the Bulls won their following game, but in their second loss of the season, they were unable to produce enough stops or assist LaVine offensively. Starting players Patrick Williams and Coby White combined to go 0-for-7 in the contest and failed to score a point for the Bulls.
Billy Donovan seems to be under pressure after the Bulls missed the playoffs the previous season, making the Bulls one of the teams to keep an eye on early in the season.
Despite having a veteran team that includes players like Lavine, DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, and others, Chicago finished the previous season below.500 and missed the postseason.
