In light of Manchester City’s 3-0 victory against Manchester United, Jamie Carragher has issued his latest Premier League title prediction.

Jamie Carragher believes that Manchester City will win the Premier League “comfortably” and concedes that Liverpool isn’t “quite there” to win the championship.

Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Manchester United was easily secured by Pep Guardiola’s team thanks to two goals from Erling Haaland and one from Phil Foden. With the win, City moved up to third place, one point behind leaders Tottenham and level on points with second-place Arsenal.

Jurgen Klopp’s team defeated Nottingham Forest 3-0, as Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, and Diogo Jota scored goals to move Liverpool up to fourth place. After ten top-flight games, the Reds have won seven, drawn two, and lost one, leaving them one point behind City.

After a convincing 3-1 victory over Luton, Aston Villa is now in fifth place, five points ahead of Newcastle and Brighton, who are still in sixth and seventh place, respectively. With five Premier League losses so far this season, Erik ten Hag’s United are down in eighth place, while Chelsea is in eleventh place.

After the Manchester derby, Carragher answered questions regarding whether City is the clear favourite to win the title. “I’ve got the feeling with City when I was coming up against Gary [Neville] and Roy [Keane], where even if Manchester United in years go by weren’t top at this stage, it’s almost if they are getting ready for the second half of the season.,” he stated to Sky Sports.

“They put on a show to show everyone how good they are and that they are still the team to beat in today’s big game. This season, I think they’ll win the league handily! Liverpool isn’t nearly prepared, in my opinion, to provide a significant threat.

“Arsenal, of course did that last season, and even though they’ve made a good start, I don’t think they are playing as well as this time last season, so I don’t think everything is 100 percent there.”

Nine days prior, Carragher, an ex-Liverpool defender, had predicted that the top match would only be competitive if City kept faltering after the international break. “The only way Liverpool – or anyone else – can win the Premier League is if Manchester City wobble,” he stated to The Telegraph.

“The recent losses to Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers by City have given the other teams hope.” Liverpool has exceeded pre-season expectations if they are able to capitalise. It’s thought that Arsenal has the best chance of beating City. Is Arsenal superior to Liverpool? We’ll find out by Christmas.”

After losing two straight games prior to the international break, City bounced back by defeating Brighton 2-1 before winning handily at Old Trafford. “I always have a good feeling here,” Guardiola remarked in answer to a question regarding his team’s performance against United and their reaction to losing at Arsenal earlier this month. The players always put in their best effort, and I’m thrilled for our supporters and what it means to them.”

“Arsenal is a fantastic team, which is why they won,” he continued. I would say that my plan of action was flawed. Because I had assumed that the space would be in different positions, we played differently. After that, I claimed that it was bad, but it did happen. Players are aware of how difficult the Premier League is. Brighton was crucial to ending that loss, and our performance against Young Boys was really helpful.”
