The French capital will host the Golden Ball ceremony for 2023 on October 30. The Argentinean and Inter Miami star Messi is the favourite to win the award, which he has won seven times already. The all-time great is expected to be crowned the world’s greatest player once more.

Messi is certain to surpass Erling Haaland of Manchester City to win the most coveted individual award. The South American will be recognised for his outstanding performance leading Argentina to a much-needed victory in the 2022 World Cup.

DID YOU KNOW?

The fashionable clothing brand Louis Vuitton created a case that will be carrying the Ballon d’Or trophy to Paris. “The house’s signature monogram canvas, and the V motif on the outside is painted in gold, in a first for its trophy trunk designs,” according to WWD, who state that the trunk was “crafted in the historical Louis Vuitton ateliers in Asnieres.”

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

With their renowned trunks having previously held trophies for the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix, the NBA, America’s Cup, the FIFA World Cup, the Roland-Garros tennis tournament, and the esports “League of Legends” World Championship, the French designers view the Ballon d’Or casing as “further proof that Victory Travels in Vuitton.” Similar consideration will be given to the Ballon d’Or Feminin, which was won in 2022 by Alexia Putellas of Barcelona.
