Andy Robertson was not present at today’s Liverpool training since he injured his shoulder while serving as a member of the international team, but Cody Gakpo was back.

The Dutch international, who missed the previous several weeks due to injury after taking a blow in Liverpool’s contentious 2-1 loss to Tottenham, was back at Kirkby, according to Football Daily.

Gakpo has resumed training, but Robertson, who was hurt playing for Scotland last week and is now pictured with a protective arm cast, has delivered Liverpool another serious blow.

As a result, Kostas Tsimikas is anticipated to start this weekend’s match against Everton, and Gakpo’s comeback will significantly strengthen Liverpool’s attacking ranks.

The Dutch international has been brilliant for the Reds this season and has been hailed as “special” by Liverpool’s official website. Gakpo’s return to Liverpool in training will be considered as a huge boost by many.

A significant look into Everton’s choices may be found in the Liverpool training video.

The Merseyside Derby this coming weekend will be crucial for Liverpool, and Jurgen Klopp’s team selection is well-illustrated in today’s video.

The absence of Robertson this afternoon means that Gakpo might once again be among the replacements for Saturday’s match at Anfield, where Robertson, a Scottish international, is expected to play.

Indeed, Robertson’s absence may be a major setback going into the Everton derby, and Liverpool will want every fit player available for selection on Saturday.
