Darwin Nuez’s Rreaction following Uruguay’s first victory over Brazil in 22 years

Darwin Nuez had a great night for Liverpool striker, scoring a goal and providing an assist in Uruguay’s 2-0 victory on Tuesday.

The World Cup qualifying matches against Brazil at home and road for Uruguay during the October international break were about as challenging as they could have been.

Even though a 2-2 tie in a road match against one of CONMEBOL’s top teams, Colombia, was a respectable result, a Brazilian team that had won all 36 of its previous World Cup qualifying matches looked to be an even stiffer challenge.

In the end, Uruguay passed the test with flying colours, snapping Brazil’s winning streak and winning all three points with a 2-0 victory. Nuez scored the game’s first goal from the penalty spot and then provided an assist for the game’s second goal.

The Liverpool striker remarked after the game, “We started talking about this game after Colombia. “It was a challenging, close opponent, but we played well both offensively and defensively, and we prevailed tonight.

“It had been 22 years since we defeated Brazil, and it is obvious that they are a very formidable team. We can rejoice that we’ve made history. I’m pleased with the victory because I came prepared to give everything I had on the pitch today.”

The increasingly well-rounded game that has been on display at Liverpool this season was demonstrated by Nuez, who impressed beyond the goal and assist he scored, defending from the front and occasionally dropping deep to join play.

Long flights and time zone differences may prevent him from starting against Everton in the early Saturday kickoff as he is now returning to Liverpool, but it is obvious to all that he is a player who is growing more and more in confidence and top form.
