According to Fabrizio Romano, clubs in Saudi Arabia will want to sign Mohamed Salah, a forward for Liverpool, in 2024.
Al-Ittihad’s interest in the Egyptian forward was expressed a little bit too late in the summer transfer window, which led to failure.
The Reds might have at least given it some thought if they had placed a lot of money on the table in July or June, but making a bid with less than two weeks left in the window was never going to be successful.
It is exceedingly difficult to replace a regular starter in the final two weeks of a transfer window, and replacing someone of Salah’s calibre would be impossible.
The biggest story of the summer was the enormous amounts of money spent in Saudi Arabia, where Cristiano Ronaldo was joined by players like Neymar and Karim Benzema.
With eight Premier League outings under his belt, Salah has had a great start to the year, scoring five goals and dishing out four assists.
The Saudi Pro League is anticipated to make a significant approach for the 31-year-old next year, despite renewed interest in January being unlikely to convince Liverpool to sell.
Romano claims that the Reds’ position is quite clear in this regard: Salah is not for sale.
Romano remarked in an article for CaughtOffside that he “respects” Liverpool for “remaining strong in their position” in the face of offers “more than £100 million” for Salah.
It is stated that Saudi Arabia “remains interested” and “wants to try again” in 2024.
A few months into the new season, Liverpool is eager to avoid any kind of “distraction” and “does not want too many rumours” because “they are not negotiating” at the time.
Michael Emenalo, the director of football for the Saudi Pro League, is a huge fan of Salah and has expressed a desire to lure him to the Gulf State, according to Romano.
“Mo is welcome at any time,” Emenalo said earlier this year. “Mo is my personal favourite.
“There are many world-class players showing interest. It’s a place where you can go and have fun and definitely improve their economics.”
Jurgen Klopp will reportedly want to recruit Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich if Salah leaves Anfield next year, according to the Mirror.
Sane would reportedly cost more than £80 million, and Bayern is unwilling to part with the German international and is genuinely eager to extend an offer to him.
In 135 games for Manchester City, the 27-year-old scored 39 goals and provided 46 assists while winning two Premier League championships.
