Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have excelled at adjusting to life at Liverpool since joining the team this summer, according to Joe Matip.

The 32-year-old defender hailed the midfield pair, who have performed well at Anfield this season, in an interview with the club’s official programme.

Both Liverpool supporters and journalists have taken notice of Szoboszlai in particular, while Mac Allister is still getting used to Jurgen Klopp’s new midfield scheme.

And Matip has been pleased by the two midfielders, who are anticipated to be important players for Liverpool in the future.

The centre back noted that all of the newcomers had adjusted nicely. Nearly the entire time has been spent playing, and Dom and Macca have performed well.

“You can see how well they have adapted, both when playing with the ball and while playing against it. They did that in their previous clubs as well, but they’ve never pretended to be new around here.

It’s encouraging to hear Matip laud Mac Allister and Szoboszlai.

Complete midfield surgery was required if the Reds were to accomplish anything of consequence this season, which is why Liverpool’s business this summer was surprising but necessary.

And Matip’s admiration for only two of the four midfielders Liverpool signed this summer—Szoboszlai in particular—is a promising development.

Liverpool’s midfield is gradually taking shape, and the Reds may soon have one of the greatest trios in the league thanks to Mac Allister’s continual improvement.
