The Reds seem to have adjusted their strategy…

In recent months, Liverpool has been connected with a move for a “extremely charismatic” player, but a fresh update has surfaced suggesting a shift in FSG’s transfer policy.

Piero Hincapie’s most recent transfer links

The Reds’ season has slowed down a little recently because they have only won one point in their past two Premier League away games against Tottenham and Brighton. The controversial nine-man Liverpool’s excruciating late loss at Spurs was hard to take, and Sunday’s 2-2 draw against the Seagulls was a hit-and-miss performance overall, but arguably a fair result.

Jurgen Klopp’s team has had a generally good start to the season, but they presently appear to be in the championship race since they are only three points behind the leaders, Spurs and Arsenal. Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, and Ryan Gravenberch were all recent additions, and they have all made an impact. The midfield was totally rebuilt during the summer transfer window.

The focus may now shift to the Reds strengthening their defensive options going forward. Piero Hincapie is being linked with Liverpool, and if recent reports are to be believed, a move for the Bayer Leverkusen center-back could happen in January. Hincapie has emerged as arguably one of Europe’s most exciting young defenders.

Update on Piero Hincapie’s move

However, a move for the Ecuadorian in the upcoming transfer window now appears to be off the table, with FSG “not likely to splash out on a move,” according to a Football Insider report. One of the clubs allegedly in “discussions” to sign Hincapie is Liverpool, although if he hasn’t already signed with another team by then, it appears that a summer offer may be more likely.

The 21-year-old might be just what the Reds need in their defence, as they want to sign a flexible left-sided player who can also be considered as a long-term star at Anfield. This news is upsetting in many respects.

The Leverkusen player would be ideal since Hincapie is renowned for being able to play as either a left-back or a center-back. With Virgil van Dijk’s age and Andy Robertson’s need for tougher competition than Kostas Tsimikas.

Jacek Kulig, a football talent scout, has previously praised Piero Hincapie, a player Liverpool are interested in signing. “Another excellent performance by Piero Hincapié. One of my favorite young CBs. An extremely charismatic player with an ‘aura’ of a top defender. The future legend of Ecuadorian football.”
