After the Liverpool custodian made a huge save to prevent Simon Adingra from tying the score for Brighton on Sunday, Jamie Carragher was all praise for Alisson.
Carragher was speaking after the Brazilian did excellently to keep the Reds up 2-1 early in the second half at the Amex Stadium during Super Sunday (broadcast on Sky Sports; 8/10; 15:08).
For a while now, Alisson has been in outstanding form for Jurgen Klopp’s team. He might have done better on the initial goal, which was a long-range shot from Simon Adingra that found the centre of the net.
But just after the break, he more than made up for that. Adingra was able to go past Andy Robertson thanks to an amazing pass from Evan Ferguson. The 21-year-old then had a clear shot at goal after getting away from the Scotland skipper with a wonderful move.
After a second-half save, Jamie Carragher praises Alisson.
The majority of people would have anticipated that the ball would score. Alisson, however, did an outstanding job from close range to get his hand on the ball and paw it away from harm.
Few people on the earth, according to Jamie Carragher, could have prevented the Seagulls from scoring that particular time like Alisson did.
“Brilliant goalkeeping, brilliant from Adingra, and again on that far side, Andy Robertson just switched off,” he told Sky Sports.
“His goalkeeper comes to his rescue. Brilliant from Adingra, he’s been fantastic when he’s played at times this season. And Alisson is as good as anyone in world football in those situations.”

Liverpool’s custodian made up for an earlier error.
Definitely not the main fault for the first goal was Alisson. With a pass made while the Argentine was being swarmed, Virgil van Dijk severely troubled Alexis Mac Allister. And Mac Allister didn’t appear to be aware of the pressure he was facing.
The custodian, though, will be let down after seeing the goal replayed. He was in an awkward position. Adingra then had a sizable portion of the target to shoot for.
However, Liverpool assumes that risk. With the ball at his feet, Alisson is among the top goalkeepers in the world. And when he sent the ball to van Dijk, he was moving forward to assume a center-back position.
On that occasion, Liverpool performed poorly on all fronts. However, there is no denying that the second-half save was just world-class.
