he Georgia Bulldogs have made notable changes to their football staff heading into the 2026 season, with Kirby Smart continuing to reshape the program while maintaining continuity in key coordinator positions.
One of the most significant moves involved the offensive line. Stacy Searels moved into a senior off-field role, while Phil Rauscher took over as Georgia’s offensive line coach. Rauscher previously worked with the Bulldogs as a quality-control assistant and also has NFL coaching experience.
At the coordinator level, however, Georgia has kept its experienced leadership in place. Mike Bobo remains the offensive coordinator, while Glenn Schumann continues as defensive coordinator. Both coaches received contract extensions this offseason, with their deals running through the 2028 season.
Bobo enters his fourth season as Georgia’s offensive coordinator under Smart, while Schumann is entering his 11th season in Athens. Their continued presence gives the Bulldogs considerable continuity heading into another demanding SEC campaign.
Georgia has also added and promoted personnel in support roles. Robert Edwards, Maurice Smith and Jalen Harris were among the additions announced earlier in 2026 as Smart continued building out the broader staff surrounding the football program.
With Georgia entering the season ranked No. 2 and coming off a 70–20 victory over Western Kentucky, the attention now turns to how these staff decisions translate on the field. The Bulldogs travel to Arkansas on September 19 as they continue their 2026 campaign.
