Prior to Liverpool’s crucial Premier League match at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp singled out West Ham United midfielders Lucas Paqueta and James Ward-Prowse for special attention.

With a respectable record of ten points after five games, the Hammers have had a strong start to their 2023–24 Premier League campaign. Jurgen Klopp praised Ward-Prowse and Paqueta during a press conference prior to the game, describing David Moyes’ team as “extremely strong opponents.”

He told the reporters before the game: “So many extremely strong opponents and West Ham are one of them,” according to a quote from the BBC.

“I’m very delighted for David [Moyes] and it’s a really intriguing initiative. They still look great without Declan Rice. James Ward-Prowse was a fantastic addition, and although [Lucas] Paqueta is not a recent addition, he is a fantastic talent”.

As West Ham looks to make a statement with a victory, Paqueta and Ward-Prowse are anticipated to be included in the starting lineup. Liverpool, on the other hand, has also enjoyed a strong start to the new Premier League campaign, winning four games and drawing one.

The fact that both sides won in the UEFA Europa League on Wednesday suggests that the Premier League match at Anfield may be a thrilling one. West Ham overcame a deficit to defeat Backa Topola of the Serbian SuperLiga 3-1, and Liverpool also rallied to defeat LASK of Austria 3-1 away from home.

The Reds will try to cut the gap on league leaders Manchester City with a win at Anfield. The Reds are presently third in the Premier League rankings, only behind second-place Tottenham Hotspur on goals scored.
