(#5) Arkansas Razorbacks softball and (#3) Alabama Crimson Tide softball are set for a huge SEC Softball Tournament showdown on Thursday, with both teams entering as national title contenders. Alabama earned a double bye after a dominant regular season, while Arkansas advanced after shutting out Mississippi State in the opening round of the tournament.
The game is scheduled for Thursday, May 7, at approximately 1 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the matchup live on the SEC Network, while streaming options are available through the ESPN app and SEC Network streaming platforms for cable subscribers. Radio coverage will also be available through the Crimson Tide Sports Network with Tom Canterbury on the call.

This SEC Tournament clash will take place at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington. The stadium serves as one of the premier softball venues in the SEC and is hosting this year’s conference tournament. Alabama and Arkansas already played a thrilling regular-season series earlier this year at Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa, where the Crimson Tide took two of three games.
Alabama enters the matchup with a 47-6 record and has been powered by one of the nation’s most balanced lineups. Brooke Wells has led the offense with 21 home runs and 58 RBIs, while Jocelyn Briski has dominated in the circle with a 1.46 ERA. The Crimson Tide has consistently ranked among the top teams nationally in both RPI and overall pitching performance this season.
Arkansas comes into the game at 42-10 overall and remains one of the most dangerous offensive teams in college softball. Tianna Bell has been the Razorbacks’ offensive leader, while Robyn Herron has anchored the pitching staff with over 150 strikeouts. Arkansas already proved its momentum by blanking Mississippi State in tournament play and will look to avenge its regular-season series loss to Alabama.
With two top-five teams meeting in postseason play, fans should expect an intense atmosphere and a possible Women’s College World Series preview. Alabama’s pitching depth and home-run power will be tested against Arkansas’ explosive lineup and aggressive offense. The winner advances to the SEC Tournament semifinals and strengthens its national seeding heading into the NCAA Tournament.
