It’s fair to say that Liverpool’s midfield has undergone a total rebuild this summer, and the results have been uneven thus far.
Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch haven’t had the best of beginnings to their Anfield careers, while Alexis Mac Allister hasn’t been around all that much either.
Dominik Szoboszlai, on the other hand, has so far appeared to be a very inspired acquisition, and according to Steve Nicol, the Hungarian has been absolutely faultless since joining Liverpool.
On the Aldo Meets Podcast, Nicol said that he hopes Szoboszlai continues with the team for another ten years and that he could become a Liverpool icon in the future.
Szoboszlai perfect
The midfielder received lots of praise from Nicol.
“The surprise has been Szoboszlai. The guy has been silky. Every single thing he does is immaculate, and he makes it look easy. It’s four games and he has been flawless in four games. It’s early to stick a halo over his head, but if he keeps doing what he’s doing, this guy is absolutely going to be a legend at Liverpool and hopefully he will be here for 10 years,” Nicol said.
Amazing beginning
Szoboszlai has been absolutely fantastic since joining Liverpool, it must be acknowledged.
He hasn’t made a mistake while wearing a Liverpool jersey, as Nicol points out, and he’s on the right track to maybe becoming an Anfield icon.
Being a Liverpool icon is obviously no simple assignment, but if Szoboszlai can maintain this level of play for a few more years, he will undoubtedly guide the Reds to significant success.
Szoboszlai might be among the summer’s top signings.
