A product of Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, Sherman had a standout prep career before heading to the JUCO ranks. Unranked coming out of high school, he developed at Itawamba CC, earning second-team All-Mississippi Association of Community College Conferences honors in 2025.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds (some sources cite 6-3), Sherman brings ideal size and length to the cornerback position. In his sophomore season, he recorded 24 tackles, one sack, and two interceptions in eight games.
Alabama was the first Power Conference program to extend an offer, which came late last week (reportedly Thursday, December 12). Sherman held previous offers from schools like East Carolina, FIU, Idaho, UT Martin, and Nicholls.
In interviews following his commitment, Sherman expressed the surreal nature of returning home:
“I grew up here. It was always a dream to come here. That A just means more. It’s about the team, not an individual. It’s the ability to be able to play for something greater than yourself.”
He also noted family ties, mentioning his sister is an Alabama graduate.
Fit with Alabama
Sherman becomes the 23rd commitment in Alabama’s 2026 class, which ranks No. 2 nationally per 247Sports Composite (behind only USC). He is rated as a three-star JUCO prospect, the No. 67 overall junior college player, and No. 8 JUCO cornerback.
He joins an already strong secondary group in the class, including:
• Five-star CB Jorden Edmonds
• Four-star CB Zyan Gibson
• Other talented DBs like Jireh Edwards and Rihyael Kelley
Sherman is the second JUCO addition for 2026, alongside offensive lineman Tyrell Miller.
With new roster rules allowing up to 105 scholarships following the House settlement, Alabama has room to add developmental pieces like Sherman—a low-risk, high-upside local talent who could contribute on defense and special teams.
His coach at Itawamba, Travis Macon, praised Sherman’s growth, noting how his story “shows that life can change in six months.”
This late addition provides depth at a premium position and exemplifies DeBoer’s staff capitalizing on local connections in the ever-evolving recruiting landscape.
