Huge congrats to the Crimson Tide on locking in one of the nation’s most dynamic signal-callers! Four-star quarterback Jett Thomalla, the No. 7 QB and No. 71 overall recruit in the 2026 class (per Rivals), put pen to paper today during the Early Signing Period, solidifying his flip from Iowa State back in June. This marks Alabama’s first QB commitment in the cycle, bolstering a class already ranked No. 3 nationally.

Why Thomalla is a Game-Changer for Bama
At 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, Thomalla brings prototypical size, a cannon arm, and elite efficiency to Tuscaloosa. His senior season at Millard South (Omaha, NE) was straight-up historic:
• 3,484 passing yards on 193-of-266 completions (73% rate)
• 61 touchdowns (just 5 INTs)
• Led his team to back-to-back Class A state titles, including a 49-0 championship rout where he tossed 7 TDs and earned MVP honors.
Over his final two high school seasons, he racked up 105 TD passes against only 8 picks—numbers that have him pegged as potentially the best QB Nebraska’s ever produced. Thomalla’s poise under pressure, deep-ball accuracy, and football IQ made him a priority for new OC Ryan Grubb and QB coach Nick Sheridan, who envision him thriving in Kalen DeBoer’s pro-style system.
He’ll enroll early in January, joining a loaded QB room with Austin Mack and five-star Keelon Russell—prime runway to compete for snaps ASAP. As Thomalla put it post-championship: “I want to prove Omaha has talent, Nebraska has talent.” Roll Tide—can’t wait to see those missiles lighting up Bryant-Denny!
