Two of the biggest disappointments of the season have been the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers. There was a lot of expectation for their performance before the season started. Both teams, though, are currently narrowly outside of the cutoff for the play-in event. One analyst believes that there is little possibility that LeBron James or Steph Curry will win another championship with their current teams.
JJ Redick gave Steph Curry, LeBron James, and their respective teams a harsh but accurate reality check during his visit on ESPN.
He said:
I don’t think either of these teams are likely to win a championship this year. These teams are trending in the right direction. I don’t think it’s likely that either gets a 5th title unless they’re willing to go somewhere else because I just don’t see either of those teams being capable of making a move that moves the needle in the next few years.
Seeing as how few talents are available to join LeBron or Steph, JJ has little faith in the Lakers or Warriors. It would be shocking to see most of the stars go because they are currently playing for dominant teams like the Chicago Bulls or Milwaukee Bucks. He went on:

Who is the next guy that’s available? Donovan Mitchell, maybe? That’s the rumor. I think he’s been fantastic in Cleveland, I hope he doesn’t leave Cleveland. Joel Embiid isn’t leaving Philly. Maybe it’s Giannis?
It’s too early to say if the Warriors or Lakers should be written off completely, but it’s certain that they won’t be the front-runners for the foreseeable future.
