During the Detroit Lions’ Wild Card game against the Los Angeles Rams, supporters booed Matthew Stafford and chanted “Jared Goff.”

About an hour before kickoff, if you were wondering how Detroit Lions fans would respond as Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford entered Ford Field for the first time since being traded in 2021, you had your answer.

A chorus of jeers greeted Stafford in a roughly 75% filled stadium. Though, to be fair, supporters were jeering every Rams player who touched the field, Stafford was singled out by Lions fans for especially harsh treatment. Following their tirade against him, Lions supporters erupted in a deliberate “Jared Goff” chant. Take a look at it:

The fact that Lions supporters jeered Stafford as he entered the field may come as a surprise to some, but keep in mind that this is an electric Lions crowd tonight and that every Rams player received the same treatment. In fact, 73% of you felt that fans should not jeer Stafford. For almost ten years, Matthew Stafford has given this franchise cause for celebration, but on Sunday night, he is the opponent. nor any more, nor any less.
