The San Francisco 49ers are not known for having perfect health.
They will, however, be totally fit going into their divisional playoff game against the Green Bay Packers, according to their injury report. Well, aside from the fact that one player has been eliminated.
Due to a knee injury, defensive tackle Clelin Ferrell will not play against the Packers on Saturday. In the regular season finale vs the Los Angeles Rams, he suffered the injury. He could have a chance to come back if the 49ers make progress. They won’t have him for the time being. Although Ferrell has been a vital rotational member for the defense, his absence won’t hurt anything in the long run.
Linebacker Dre Greenlaw is the only other player with an injury designation versus the Packers. For the last week, he has been treating Achilles tendinitis, although it is not thought to be significant. His absence from practice, which has always been a precaution to keep him as fresh as possible, is the sole reason his name appears on the injury report. Thus, the 49ers are in excellent health and are in the best shape of the whole season. Even Arik Armstead, who has missed the last month’s games, is returning.
For this game, the 49ers are actually receiving reinforcements. George Odum, a vital member of the special teams and safety squad, is being activated off the injured reserve list. For the 49ers’ postseason drive to make it back to the Super Bowl, everyone is on deck. For the time being, their health won’t be a reason for failure or a barrier to their success.
